W&E Baum recently completed a monumental custom donor wall for the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church. After a successful capital campaign Archangel Michael GOC moved from their original location in Roslyn, NY to a new facility in Port Washington, NY, housing their preschool, Greek school and Sunday school along with their sanctuary and athletic center. The staff and parishioners of the church enlisted W&E Baum’s expertise to design and create a donor wall to recognize contributors to the capital campaign which funded this massive undertaking. Baum’s team traveled to Port Washington to consult with the church’s architect, designers and to see firsthand the building’s inspiring architecture.
The majestic capital campaign donor wall has names printed on two 35” x 47 ½” satin brass plaques mounted to a mahogany background. Smooth, tapered mahogany columns with Tuscan bases and caps support a 5” deep mahogany soffit with crown molding. Down lighting installed behind the crown molding illuminates the brass plaques. Glass mosaic images of Saints are located in the alcoves between the columns. The base of the unit is 12” x 5” deep Black Absolute Granite with gold filled sandblasted letters and a logo. The overall size of the tremendous recognition wall is 6’ x 20’.
Throughout the entire design process Baum’s staff worked closely with the church’s architect and staff to insure the donor wall met their aesthetic needs and fit seamlessly into the building’s architecture. W&E Baum’s installers traveled to Port Washington to execute the involved and intricate installation of this massive free-standing recognition wall.
There is no job too big or too small for W&E Baum’s team. We look forward to creating your next custom donor recognition and memorial project with you. To see more of our unique and diverse designs, click here.
